What Does Success Mean to You?

Growing up, people always asked me what I wanted to be or what were my plans. Half the time I would make up something just to get them out of my face, when in reality, I did not know exactly where I was going in life. I just went with the flow. What I mean is, I did not stay still. Everyone has their fair share of day-dreaming, but how often do we act on things that we dream about? When asked what I wanted to be, I never had a solid answer, but I knew for sure I wanted to be successful. I have never been eager to be a rich person, but I do want financial stability. Being successful and financially stable can be done in many ways that does not force a person to stay in one area in life. It allows an individual to create their own options in life and decide which route they would like to take. The important factor here is to keep going. No one is forcing you to make a decision today besides yourself, but while you’re still figuring things out, try new things. You may not feel qualified for a specific job, but you will never know the outcome if you do not apply. And what is success without action? A person can feel successful by simply completing their goal of exercising consistently for a month. The definition of success is simply completing a goal that a person created, which could be anything! Knowing that I am working towards something is satisfying within itself. I do not know how big my house will be or what car I will be driving in 5 years, but I do know what person I want to be and the positions I want to be in. Therefore, I make decisions as if opportunity will be knocking at my door any minute. At the end of the day, it is all about how you feel about yourself and whether or not you are feeling content in your current position. I personally love to put myself out there regarding opportunities and experiences because I like to make everyday count. That is my personal version of being successful, what is yours?
