Actions Speak Louder Than Words

We often read meaningful messages but are we applying it to our everyday lives? I know I am still working on it. Deep down I have always wanted to be Miss Perfect, I mean literally. I remember when I first learned of sin and for a week straight tried not to commit one sin to prove I was not like the rest and boy was I wrong, but the fact that I even tried says something right?
Overtime, I had to learn that I am going to make mistakes, but what really matters is how I handled the mistake being made. Still as young as I am (22), I am working on taking accountability and setting an example for my peers on how people should be treated. I can’t expect others to take me seriously if everything I speak on is never acted upon. Being kind and loving does not happen overnight and takes practice, and the only practice I’ve gained is my everyday interactions with people. I love noticing self-change because after everything has taken place I always say, “The old me would have…” which is me acknowledging the fact that I am growing out of old habits, but only because I practiced in real life situations.
Being disciplined is easier said than done, but that is the whole purpose of working on your habits daily. If you want to be a better person, build a better work ethic, sleep earlier, the next step is acting on those goals. Imagine creating a whole list of goals, big or small, and a year later realizing you haven’t even started on them. You can also imagine yourself trying to be a better person, but everyday you’re being mean and unkind to others (you are moving backwards not forward). You will feel much better, I’m sure, if you act on the goals you want to achieve. I suggest getting out of the habit of saying things you want to do and get in the habit of saying things YOU WILL DO.
On the other hand, if you have already practiced on acting out on your goals, do not be discouraged by those whose actions disappoint you. We would all love for everyone to act out on what they say, but we all know a lot of times, that just isn't the case. You are not wrong for giving someone the benefit of the doubt, but do not be fooled by those who constantly say they are working on something or want to do something and have yet to move a muscle. You might have goals you want to accomplish, but if the people you are surrounded by are not motivated, you can take the initiative to motivate them or maybe it is time for new surroundings. Just do not waste your time living off what people say, work on your actions just as you would like for others to do.
